In this KUWTK throwback clip we look at the hilarious moment Kim pranked her unsuspecting brother by donning a full disguise and trying to hit on him.
The Kardashians are famed for their wild antics, tight-knit family unit, and hilarity. Keeping Up With the Kardashians frequently saw the family playing pranks on each other. Kim Kardashian has managed to prank siblings before, like her classic ‘Bachelorette’ prank. We look back at one of the earlier seasons in which Kim pulls a hilarious prank on brother Rob, where she dresses up as ‘Cynthia’ and tries to hit on him.
‘Cynthia’ thinks Rob is ‘just so cute’
In a clip posted to Hayu‘s YouTube channel, in 2021, with ‘never before seen’ footage, we see Kim getting fully made up, but not in her usual flawless makeup.
With the power of some SFX makeup, her face shape, nose, and lips are completely changed. Once donned with a curly wig and some false teeth, she has undergone a complete transformation into her new character – Cynthia!
Talking to Nick Lachey, who is in a similar get-up and looking an awful lot like Seth Rogan, Nick says: “I wouldn’t know it was you either.” Before describing her hair as “a gizzard on a turkey.”
Kim’s distinctive voice still makes her recognizable, but once in ‘show mode’ she cleverly disguises it with a comical accent referring to Nick Lachey’s costume as “Matt Damon.”
Adding that her brother “doesn’t even know” that she is doing the show, she states: “I think I’m going to try and like hit on him or something,” making Nick laugh.
As the prank gets underway, Kim approaches Rob Kardashian, but cannot contain her fits of giggles. She has to look to the camera to conceal them as Rob coyly asks: “What’s your name?”
“Cynthia,” Kim responds, still barely keeping it together as her brother, not recognizing her, introduces himself and shakes her hand.
“I just love your show,” ‘Cynthia’ tells her unsuspecting brother who seems almost bashful. “You’re just so cute,” the cheeky sister adds, while her brother graciously thanks her.
Rob seems to find the whole situation amusing as he smiles and looks at ‘Cynthia’ modestly walking back and forth.
‘I just thought you were a total nut job’
The prank’s over when a worker on the show comes and asks: “Kim are you ready?”
The sound of his sister’s name sparks some recognition in Rob, but he still doesn’t quite catch on until the assistant spells it out for him.
“You didn’t know this was your sister?” she asks.
Rob hugs Kim and scolds her in a brotherly way as the two playfully fight. “I hate you,” he tells her gently, clearly amused but embarrassed by what unfolded.
Kim questions how her brother didn’t realize it was her even when she was hysterically laughing. “I just thought you were a total nut job!” Rob exclaimed.
“You are a good actress,” Rob joked.
Fans are absolutely loving this throwback clip. One commented: “When he was like what’s your name? And she tried to walk it off, I was smiling the whole time.”
One fan thinks it’s funny how gullible Rob had been writing: “The fact that she couldn’t even hold it together but still fooled him is soooo hilarious!!!”
Another reminisces for the ‘good old days’ claiming: “These were the best days in reality TV if you ask me.”
